John Jellinek | Jelco Ventures, Inc.

John Jellinek is the Founder and President of Jelco Ventures in the San Diego, La Jolla, California area. He founded the private equity investment firm in 1971. John Jellinek has personally had a hand in over fifty private equity transactions during his career, which has spanned over 40 years.


From April 2005 to June 2011 John Jellinek served as the Chairman of Zenith Administrators Inc., a third party employee benefit plan administrator serving multi-employer, single employer and public employer benefit plans. In addition, John was the treasurer of the Aspen Valley Hospital Board of Trustees. 


 John Jellinek is also the co-founder of the Entrepreneur Foundation at Miami University and has served as a co-trustee of the Miami University fund and its Business School Board. John Jellinek went to Miami University where he received his Bachelor of Science and also attended the University of Chicago, completing his Master of Business Administration.


Outside of work, John Jellinek is a motorsport and competitive racing fan, having been a driver himself. John competed in Watkins Glen, Silverstone, Sebring, Road America and Le Mans. During his career, John has had co-drivers, of which include – Yves Courage, Michel Dubois, Eddie Arundel, Alain De Cadenet, James Weaver, Tom Brennan, and Stefan Edlis.
