John Spiezia spent over seven years with Open Gate Capital Management, based Los Angeles, CA, with offices in Paris and São Paulo, and Architect Equity LLC, based El Segundo, CA. Both firms focus on acquiring industrial, consumer products and technology businesses in the middle and lower-middle market private equity sectors. Prior thereto, Mr. Spiezia worked as an investment banking analyst at Ascendiant Securities where he focused on mergers and acquisitions as well as capital raises within the broader industrials sector.
Mr. Spiezia holds an MBA from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business, and undergraduate bachelor’s degrees in economics and international business finance from San Diego State University. He has held FINRA Series 7, 63, and 79 certifications, currently holds a California real estate salesperson license and is currently pursuing professional designation as a certified turnaround analyst.
In addition to his work in private equity, Mr. Spiezia invests in various sectors, to include real estate, venture capital and the public equity and debt markets.
