A recent graduate of Pennsylvania State University, John Moss Wathen IV holds a bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering. As part of his yearlong senior capstone project, John Moss Wathen IV collaborated with a team of seven students to design an unmanned aerial vehicle model capable of delivering supplies to another group. The project required careful calculation of performance parameters such as climb rate and endurance, fuel requirements, and takeoff distance.
Previously, Mr. Wathen spent 3 years as a cadet with the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, where his role as lead lab office required him to plan and implement 15 weeks of leadership labs for 100 cadets. In recognition of his leadership and academic achievement, he received the Major Lewis Award.
Mr. Wathen has worked as a laborer with Fairchild’s Concrete Contracting and Nastase Construction and Supplies. He is also an active community volunteer who has donated more than 800 hours of his time to the American Red Cross, in addition to volunteering with The Growing Place Child Care Center.
