Jonas Armstrong

As a legal professional with the Interstate Stream Commission in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Jonas Armstrong serves as staff attorney for the Acequia Program and Water Planning Program and as an assistant attorney to the Rio Grande Bureau. His responsibilities in these positions include providing legal advice and helping to shape general Interstate Stream Commission policies and procedures. Before assuming his current position in August 2021, Jonas Armstrong served relatively brief tenures with the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission in Santa Fe and as a versatile public policy attorney in Albuquerque. From 2014 to 2019, Mr. Armstrong evaluated fiscal and general policy effects as part of the state legislature’s Legislative Finance Committee. One of the only attorney-analysts on the Legislative Finance Committee, he was uniquely positioned to appraise existing policy and proposed legislation.
