Jonathan Kiev MD

Kentucky Thoracic Surgeon

The president of AOK Innovations, Jonathan Kiev, MD, has designed and patented patented quick access devices for use by health care personnel for use in the hospital, battlefield, and by first responders in the field. Additionally, Jonathan Kiev, MD, serves as attending thoracic surgeon at Saint Joseph Hospital, Lexington, Kentucky.

Dr. Kiev holds a bachelor of arts from Syracuse University and a medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine. He completed a general surgery internship at St. Barnabas Medical Center in New Jersey, followed by a general surgery residency at Hahnemann University Hospital in Pennsylvania. He also undertook a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California, a fellowship in minimally invasive thoracic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh, and a fellowship in advanced thoracic surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.

In the research arena, Jonathan Kiev, MD, has served as principal investigator on an approved study of chemotherapy resistance and sensitivity in lung tumors and in a feasibility trial for the treatment of unresectable non-small cell lung carcinomas. In 2005, he received the Hume Miller Award from the Virginia Surgical Society. Apart from his surgical and research responsibilities, Dr. Kiev is a commercial jet and helicopter pilot.
