Career in the Fragrance Industry

Ken Wessel started his career in the perfume industry by working in the perfume research and development sector at Procter and Gamble, a high-profile global company that is known for its success in the personal care industry. After leaving Procter and Gamble, Ken Wessel started a position at deLaire, Inc., in New York City, serving as the president of the company.

In 1988, Mr. Wessel launched his company Wessel Fragrances, Inc., which served the industry as a producer and distributor of fragrance. His company was based in New Jersey, and, in 2008, he sold his company to Takasago International Corporation, a Japanese company that specializes in the creation of distinct flavors and fragrances.

During his over 50-year career, Mr. Wessel was on the board of several associations, including the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials, of which he sat on for more than 30 years. He currently lives in Vero Beach, Florida, a city where he indulges in his favorite hobbies, which include playing tennis and reading.
