Leslie S. Pratch

Clinical psychologist Leslie S. Pratch leads Pratch & Company as president and CEO.  She offers business advisory services to help identify candidates suitable for executive positions. Based in New York and Connecticut, Leslie S. Pratch uses a proprietary in-depth psychological assessment system as a way of analytically informing the hiring decisions made by clients.

Among the core variables Leslie Pratch considers when deciding whether an individual is a good fit for a job are active coping, motivation, and complexity of information processing. Active coping include the ability to deal with complex and changing situations in an adaptively resourceful way. Other qualities assessed are self-awareness and the ability to synthesize complexity and take appropriate, timely action. These qualities are assessed using the proprietary Active Coping Assessment System. The accuracy of the system in identifying high-level executives stands at greater than 98 percent.

Leslie Pratch holds a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Northwestern University. Her doctoral dissertation drew on data from research she led at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business focused on personality predictors of effective leadership among already high-performing leaders. This research led to the creation of her Active Coping Assessment System. She also holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where she specialized in strategy and finance.
