Garmin Intl., Software Engineer, Jul 2019 ~ Present

  • Worked on a custom OEM infotainment solution for Daimler-Mercedes using C++, Qt Framework, and JavaScript 
  • Personally added and redesigned over 25 different language keyboards for each language supported
  • Initiated a collaboration with UX and Audio team and to create and implement custom sounds for the product 
  • Spearheaded department-wide debug logging standard as a continuous improvement initiative to be used in the future 
  • Rapidly redesigned the enabling and disabling of CarPlay and Android Auto to meet Start of Production deadline 
  • Volunteered and spoke at a high school STEM outreach event as well as helped with college recruitment events 

Cerner Corporation, Software Engineer Intern, May 2018 ~ Aug 2018

  • Full stack developer on a small, close team that worked communication app used by 200+ hospital clients 
  • Implemented message attachments with Ruby on Rails APIs to retrieve data and ReactJS to display attachment preview in a popup; currently in production 
  • Achieved 100% unit and integration test coverage for newly added features with Jest and Capybara 
  • Presented final project to 50+ people; comprised of team leads, managers, and interns

Iris by Lowe's, Front End Intern, Aug 2017 ~ May 2018 
  • Added ability to crop and upload photos for IoT devices in a user's account using Javascript and NodeJS libraries
  • Collaborated with fellow interns to create a GUI for our Product Management team that allows them to edit an xml file and push the document to Github to remove the need for developers to edit this document
  • Inspected hundreds of protocols with Wireshark to compare to other major brands and presented the findings in a formal report to the VP of Engineering that ultimately impacted how we treat high importance devices such as locks
  • Learned about Zigbee/ZWave technology and how to utilize both to create a resilient mesh network
Iris by Lowe's, Web Dev Intern, May 2017 ~ Aug 2017  
  • Worked on a reactive and dynamic web application, enabling thousands of users to control their IoT devices such as locks, cameras, lights, etc. using Javascript and different web frameworks such as CanJS, DoneJS, and MustacheJS
  • Learned the fundamentals of Agile development and good coding practices through close mentorship of senior engineers with 45+ years of collective experience
  • Contributed to development workflow, reviewed PR's, and shipped 1500+ lines of code into production
  • Added ability to subscribe to NOAA weather alerts for a HALO Smart Labs device; utilized NOAA APIs creating a dynamic dropdown list of options for the user to choose

  • Dynamic Web App built with Vue.js 
  • Created a python script to fetch, parse, and store podcast RSS feeds' data
  • Building to help discover different dnd podcasts based on diverse filtering categories and publicly collaborated tags - Actual Play D&D Podcast, Jan 2020 ~ Present
  • Editor and producer of a D&D 5e podcast
  • Started the podcast as a creative storytelling and role playing exercise (also for fun!)  
  • Developed highly efficient workflows utilizing Audacity to edit 3-4 hours of content, sounds effects, music, and ambient noises in order to release weekly
