Marc Sweeney
Entrepreneur in the Pharmaceutical and Academic Sectors
A graduate of Ohio Northern University and the Ohio State University, Marc Sweeney is an accomplished entrepreneur and pharmacist with a background in academia. Throughout his career, he has established or assisted with the launch of various companies, pharmacy industry-related programs, and university pharmacy colleges. Marc Sweeney was the founding dean of Cedarville University’s School of Pharmacy, for which he recruited students, hired and trained faculty and staff, and helped meet the timeline goal for achieving full accreditation. He also served on the founding leadership team for the College of Pharmacy at the University of Findlay.
Currently, Dr. Sweeney functions as the chief executive officer and principal of Profero Team, a consulting and clinical-support company that he cofounded in 2012. He also maintains leadership and equity roles with various other businesses. In addition to his experience in the pharmaceutical field and work as a licensed pharmacist, Dr. Sweeney is knowledgeable in practice areas such as home care, hospice care, ambulatory care, and managed care.
A member of multiple professional organizations, Marc Sweeney has belonged to the American Pharmacists Association, the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. He is also the director of the Ohio Pharmacists Association’s Center for Entrepreneurship.
