Financial Services Career

The recipient of a bachelor's degree in government and law from Lafayette College, Marguerite Cassandra Toroian subsequently earned an MBA from the University of Miami. After working as an intern at Merrill Lynch and Evensky, Brown and Katz, Marguerite Cassandra Toroian joined a Pennsylvania-based mutual fund company in 1996. Working as a buy-side analyst, she focused primarily on the banking and technology sectors.

Marguerite Toroian later worked as a sell-side analyst with Ryan Beck & Co., following which she co-founded the boutique investment bank Cohen Bros. & Co., where she was responsible for building out its research, trading and fixed income, and new product development departments. She sold her stake in the company in 2005, at which point it managed collateral assets in excess of $60 billion.

She founded Bell Rock Capital, LLC, the following year and has continued to guide the SEC registered investment advisor. The firm was appointed as one of six asset management firms to serve as a financial agent of the United States Treasury in 2009 and has grown from 2 to 12 employees since its launch. It now manages more than $350 million in assets. Beyond managing Bell Rock Capital, Ms. Toroian regularly appears on CNBC to discuss economic topics and, in the past, has been a guest on Fox News and Fox Business.
