Marvin Kowalewski

Former Counseling Center Director

Based in Port Charlotte, Florida, Marvin Kowalewski, PhD, most recently served as director of The Counseling Solutions Center, which provides psycho-educational assessment and treats behavioral issues. The center also offers Gottman marital therapy. He also worked with patients with the Coastal Behavioral Family Emergency Treatment Center in Sarasota. Prior to moving to Florida, Marvin Kowalewski, PhD, served as a psychologist at the Blick Center in Ohio, where he developed electronic equipment to serve the needs of individuals with autism and disabilities. He also served as director of the Kent State University Educational Child Study Center, where he taught graduate courses in psychological and reading/learning disabilities.

Marvin Kowalewski holds multiple degrees, including a PhD in clinical instruction and administration from Kent State University, an MA in mental health counseling from Webster University, and an MA in clinical psycholinguistic disabilities from Ball State University. Outside of his work in mental health, he serves on the Charlotte County Neighborhood Association Accountability Board and has previously donated his time to the Charlotte Players, the North Port Performing Arts Center, and the YMCA of Port Charlotte.
