Matt Kafker

Matt Kafker - Dedicated Volunteer and Accomplished Student


As a student at the Middlesex School in Concord, Massachusetts, Matt Kafker stood out for his academic achievements and commitments to his community. He has completed two service trips with the organization Global Works, which presented him with the opportunity to spend a week in Costa Rica on a rain diversion project. Matt Kafker also traveled with the organization to France, where he participated in property redevelopment in nature preserves and parks.


In addition, Matt Kafker has dedicated much of his free time to fighting hunger in the Greater Boston community. He has volunteered more than 100 hours a week serving and delivering food at the Pine Street Inn homeless shelter and has donated more than 30 hours to the Greater Boston Food Bank, where he packs food for distribution to populations in need across the state. He has served in a similar role with the Open Door Food Pantry, where he volunteered full time during his summer breaks from school.


As a scholar, Matt Kafker has distinguished himself as a National Merit student and National Advanced Placement Scholar. He has received several subject awards, including the Rene N. Bourquin French Prize and the Andrew M. Dawson Physics Prize.
