Matthew Syken

Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary of Parex

After studying undergraduate pre-law and political science at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City, Matthew E. Syken matriculated at Touro Law School on Long Island, where he gained admittance to the Student Bar and served internships with both the Legal Aid Society of New York and the law firm of Jaspan, Schlesinger & Hoffman. He also completed the London Summer Program through Notre Dame Law School as a business and compliance scholar. After Matthew Syken earned his juris doctor, he embarked on a career in corporate law with companies and firms such as the Cordia Telecom Corp. and the law firm of Rick, Steiner, Fell & Benowitz. 


While serving as general counsel for multiple global businesses, Matthew E. Syken returned to the academic environment to pursue a master of business administration at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Currently on sabbatical from Johns Hopkins, Mr. Syken provides general counsel as the chief legal officer and corporate secretary of the international chemical manufacturer Parex.
