Experienced School Superintendent Matthew Wendt

Matthew Wendt laid the foundation for his career as an educator and superintendent with a bachelor of science in education from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. After serving as a teacher and coach at Kansas’ Gardner-Edgerton High School and Holton High School, he accepted an in-school suspension facilitator position at Spring Hill High School and completed coursework to obtain his master of science in educational administration from Kansas State University. Matthew Wendt subsequently served three years as principal of Fowler Jr./Sr. High School before accepting the first of many superintendent of schools positions. 


While overseeing a wide range of daily staff and student operations and strategic policy initiatives at public schools across the United States, Mr. Wendt returned to the academic environment, securing superintendent certification at Fort Hays State University and a doctor of education at the University of Arkansas. He embarked on a new professional path in 2018, becoming a foreign principal, consultant, and teacher with international schools in Beijing and Shenzhen, China.
