'The Wasteland' (January 6)
Direction : David Casademunt
Cast : Inma Cuesta, Asier Flores, Roberto Álamo, Víctor Benjumea, Alejandra Howard
This Spanish horror film soaks up the sickening isolation of 'The Witch' and the metaphorical monsters of 'Babadook' to compose a hair-raising tale of fear . It tells the story of a family that lives isolated from the rest of society, away from a war in which they do not want to take sides, but their tranquility will be disturbed by a terrifying presence that will test the ties that bind them. The explained ending of 'El páramo' may resolve some doubts for some, but the most important thing is to enjoy the terrifying experience that it offers us.
'Munich on the eve of a war' (January 21)
Direction : Christian Schwochow
Reparto : George MacKay, Jannis Niewöhner, Jeremy Irons, Alex Jennings, Martin Wuttke, Ulrich Matthes
This most remarkable historical espionage and war film takes us to Europe in 1938, when, as its title indicates, it is on the brink of war. And not just any war: World War II would mark the history of the 20th century in ways that could not even be imagined at the time. In this story we see how British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain (Jeremy Irons) desperately seeks a peaceful solution to the conflicts that Adolf Hitler is generating on the continent, especially at this time when he is about to invade Czechoslovakia.. A young British civil servant, Hugh Legat (George McKay), travels to Munich for a conference where his former classmate and German diplomat Paul von Hartmann (Jannis Niehwöhner) will also attend, and suddenly they both find themselves at the center of all the problems.
