My past business cards said things like Account Manager, Sales Manager and Business Development Manager. and for over 15 years I have worked in a variety of sales and marketing (related) jobs at corporate software industry leaders like SAP, Oracle, Dell and Qlik - before I started to shift focus to marketing, branding & identity, program management, innovation and stakeholder engagement strategies. There has always been one core skill running through my career like a red threat; its my ability to make a true connection with my interlocutor - and from that connection Im perfectly able to include him / her in my vision and ideas. I dive in, I work from a strategic plan per stakeholder (decision maker mapping and screening, his / her agenda, budgets, impediments, topics, priorities, lobby message and considered approach) and I connect. Also I do not only talk a lot, I actually persuade.
