Sebelum ada fakultas ekonomi dan bisnis islam ini lahirnya ekonomi islam ini berasal dari fakultas syariah dan hukum, adapun prospek kerja dari jurusan ini lebih kepada keuangan-keuangan syariah, dan analisis kebijakan dan gimana mahasiswa itu dituntut tidak paham ekonomi secara konvensional, tapi ekonomi secara islam.
