It’s the Echo of the Sea.

It is an endless waiting for hope when people are suffering under pressure, just like throwing out a bottle message into the sea, waiting for a reply. Inspired from the concept, écho de la mer is an interactive outdoor space that aimed to release your stress. Divided into two parts, La mer and Blubbur, each of which has its own unique interaction to alleviate personal stress. Although the design is separated into two different zones, interactions still happened between the far distance.

In Hinduism, God Shiva is simultaneously destroyer and creator. In fact, the world we live in is mostly created by destroying some of the existing things. To make a creation, destruction must be made. In this looping process, human act as both destroyer and creator, which is similar to God Shiva.
Inspired by the concept of Destructive Creation, a formula of CREATE - BUILD - DESTROY with existing elements between fantasy and reality world is the main spirit of the toy ELEMENTALIST. ELEMENTALIST is a series of app-oriented characterized weapon toys that opens the door for players to create special powers by battling with fantasy identities in the real world.

E V O is an experimental material design lab aiming to create a memorable experience for hiking enthusiasts. Inspired from the thriving and growing state of nature, the lab works collaboratively across various disciplines in search of diverse possibilities for evolution.

E V O cookware are flat, lightweight, and smart. Heat up the flat cookware to over 60°C then it will automatically shape to its memory form ——
a frying pan, a plate, a bowl, or a pot.

Light and shadow might be one of the most long-debated topics in the whole design industry because of its unpredictable beauty. Realizing that with a good command in light and shadow could bring the existing design to an extraordinary level, I started to explore the possibilities in lighting.
Working as a lighting designer, the most exhilarating part is the chance to go beyond borders. From architectural to interior and from landscape to product, I can execute pragmatic practice or experiment artistic expression at various scales and scopes.

Because the price of overwhelming freedom is often isolation.
“To confront a person with his shadow is to show him his own light.” Using hat as a metaphor for isolation, L O N E S O L would like to shed a light on the shadows and light up every loner’s soul.

BOND THE COMMUNITY
BACKGROUND
Current community centers offer a limited range of services and the venues provided are not large enough to cater to these services. In view of this, 3 Hong Kong PolyU Design graduates who are keen on community connections have started off by designing a mobile cart, and further proposed a series of community services and platform naming MoCo Action (Mobile Community Action). MoCo hopes to strengthen the connection between seniors and the community in order to promote communication between neighbors, enhance the sense of belonging, and improve the elderly’s living quality.

MOCO ACTION 
The initial MoCo Action has designed five community activities that are close to the daily life of the Pak Tin villagers, and a cart made with upcycled materials will be our mobile station. MoCo serves as the platform provider, all activities can be coordinated with the selection of community centers; Social workers play a role of propagator and cooperator. They are responsible for encouraging the participation of residents, and so to create a mobile gathering point.

The Nest by Alex is a social entrepreneurial project collaborated by The Nesbitt Centre and School of Design, HK PolyU. It provides an opportunity for people with disabilities to set up and run their own businesses. This self–employment opportunity is a crucial step for the NGO. It truly ensures people with disabilities lead an independent and sustainable livelihood.
