Work Experience

Registered Behavioral Technician

Jun 2021 - Jan 2022
8 mos
Responsibilities : Implement behavior intervention plans designed by the lead Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to improve life skills and ultimately the quality of life for children with autism. Careful observation is articulated in daily progress notes to inform BCBA of quantified trial outcomes and task mastery. Record Antecedent, Behavior, Consequence (ABC) data when maladaptive behaviors occur. Verbal, gestural, and physical prompting serve to reinforce preferred behavior to build each child's autonomy, strengthen innate talents, and help them to progress toward independently chosen life goals. Left in order to explore career options with a new company.

Domestic Violence Advocate Research Technician

Apr 2021 - Sep 2021

Responsibilities : The person-centered empowerment model program was based upon paired advocates with survivors of intimate partner violence to provide safety and build the survivor's autonomy. Facilitated progress toward customized goals identified and prioritized by survivors during the 6-month partnership. Detailed all contact in activity logs and Redcap database. Attended weekly supervision with fellow advocates to gain insight, direction, and support. Worked regularly in the Detroit community with law enforcement, legal counsel, housing networks, mental health professionals, and fellow domestic violence agencies. Offered promotion after first serving as a volunteer advocate to take on additional responsibilities: referral outreach, intake interviews, and assignment of additional survivors. Program unexpectedly lost all funding.

Receptionist

Nov 2020 - Apr 2021

Responsibilities : Comprehensive intimate partner violence and sexual assault nonprofit agency expressed the need for front desk staff to delegate the needs of visitors and callers. Took focused measures to refer walk-in survivors in crisis, collected and organized donations received, and directed all other visitors to staff appropriately. Callers were similarly forwarded to best determined organization personnel identified through effective listening and communication skills. Offered promotion after first volunteering time to commit to additional hours needed. Left following an offer to work in direct services.
