Patrick Grainey
Having previously served in the US Marine Corps, Patrick Grainey has now transferred his organizational skills to renewable energy firm Vestas American Wind Technology. Vestas hired Patrick Grainey in 2015 as a supply chain coordinator to handle high-priority orders. He moved up the ladder to the service delivery manager position, where he now leads planners and analysts and supports regional repair operations.
On active duty from 2008 to 2015, Mr. Gainey attained the rank of captain, commanding the service and logistics company for the Chemical-Biological Incident Response Force and supervising some 250 troops. He was also a liaison officer for presidential inaugurations and a papal visit. Before that, he was stationed in Okinawa and Baghdad as a platoon leader of computer system professionals, and also assisted earthquake and tsunami recovery in Japan. He received several medals and participated in a NATO training mission.
Closer to home, Mr. Grainey helps his family’s business, The Grainey Goats, which sells chickens and Nigerian dwarf goats. He also researched an earthquake response report for the City Club of Portland. Other achievements include earning a BA with honors in political science and history from the University of Notre Dame and an MS in supply chain management from the University of San Diego.
Mr. Grainey’s community service includes membership on the board of directors of the Salem Area Catholic Schools Association and the finance chairmanship of St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Portland. He also enjoys soccer and running.
