Vincent Barletta is a Stanford University tenured associate professor of Comparative Literature and Iberian and Latin American Cultures. His scholarship focuses on the intersections of literature, philosophy, and religion in early modern Spain. He has also written extensively on contemporary Spanish theater and film.
Barletta is a research associate at the Europe Center and an associate faculty member at the Center for African Studies, the Center for Latin American Studies, and the Abbasi Program in Islamic Studies at Stanford. He has been awarded numerous fellowships from institutions including the National Endowment for the Humanities, Fulbright-Hays, Guggenheim Foundation, and John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.
