A longtime California resident, Megan Moilanen graduated from Aliso Niguel High School in Aliso Viejo, California, before matriculating at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) to study history and secondary education. While working toward her bachelor's, she served as a tutor and a court-appointed child abuse services advocate in Orange County.. She also completed a teaching fellowship with the Breakthrough Collaborative. Megan Moilanen graduated cum laude with her bachelor of arts and then returned to the Breakthrough Collaborative to found and direct its College Bound high school program.
While continuing to work at the Breakthrough Collaborative, Megan Moilanen began teaching at the high school level. Over the next several years, she would serve in multiple leadership roles and she returned to CSUF to secure her Masters of Science in Educational Leadership.
Ms. Moilanen is now a high school principal with ACE Charter Schools in San Jose, California. She is also continuing her education at the Relay Graduate School of Education.
