Mel Brencius

Longtime Southern California Educator 

Mel Brencius is a Southern California elementary school teacher who has been a member of the Buena Park School District faculty for more than two decades. Instructing fourth through sixth grade, Mel Brencius is committed to ensuring that students are provided with the academic tools for success. In managing classrooms, he integrates technology in ways that enhance learning and lesson retention.

Mr. Brencius completed his bachelor’s degree in communications at California State University, Fullerton, and received his teaching credential from Concordia University in 1999. He also holds a graduate degree in education administration earned at California State University, Long Beach.

In addition to teaching, Mr. Brencius has a passion for working with those with disabilities and the elderly. Since 2021, he has cared for his 40-year-old brother in a home setting. Among his daily responsibilities are meal preparation, medication distribution, and assistance with transportation. He also maintains patient care records that he shares with his brother’s case manager and supervisor. An avid Chicago Cubs fan, Mel Brencius enjoys attending sports events and cultural performances in his free time.
