The recipient of a bachelor's in art history from the University of London and a master's in criminal justice from the Open University, Monette De Botton has held a variety of roles during her career. She worked briefly as a personal assistant to the international director at Pace Wildenstein in the 1990s, and later performed structural and interior design work through Life Design in Geneva, Switzerland. Monette De Botton served six years with the company and concurrently worked one year in public relations with Swiss Ski Safari.
More recently, Ms. De Botton served two years as creative director at Brod in New York City, where she helped design new store locations and contributed to recipe development and special event planning. She presently serves as owner of Omnette, LLC, through which she produces documentary films. She recently co-produced Descending the Mountain, which details a scientific experiment in which zen monks experienced psilocybin for the first time while on a five-day mountain retreat.
A proponent of meditation and the mind-body connection, Monette De Botton was diagnosed with small fiber neuropathy in 2018 and was immobile following a failed back surgery. She recovered at the Pain Cure Clinic in Colorado and now coaches people on how to cope with chronic pain.
