About me
I’m Stella . Reading and expressing by words are daily necessities . By exposing myself to imaginative world , I get chances to acquire knowledge and deepen wisdom and sensibility , also liberate my heart . For me , reading as a routine has a far-reaching effect of all time . During childhood , I learned ballet and Japan martial art in order to boost my health , in particular , the essence of art and philosophy became my spiritual backup whenever I feel down . As for interest in Italian culture , I had studied Italian for one semester , though it is merely basic learning , I recognized the real culture of Latin and had a unforgettable memory.
Going through the professional train in fashion design , not only do I understood the procedures of garments production and the clothing structure , but also design and art concepts including aesthetics , art history , sketching and illustration . At the same time , I found out I skilled in graphic design more than sewing a skirt . Therefore , I took several courses in Journalism department in content with my love of communication by images and words . Furthermore , practicing sketch helps to improve observation and keen sense about everything around . All of these experiences influenced my future .
Aside from major , I participated in a few extracurricular activities including dancing club , volunteering in overseas service community ,which each of member had undergone training until we went to Mongolia , executing basic health education and cultural exchange. The time with the children gave me priceless memories and profound self-inspiration.
At the summertime of third year as an undergraduate , I took an internship lasting one and half a month in the Gown Design factory . What truly had a strong effect on me was a wedding dress needs many in-hand skills by different worker's dedication . From CAD producing technology to humanship cutting ,sewing , after finishing and delicate beading , we underwent all of these procedures in person , making our own gowns . To tell the truth , without those workers or supervisors' help and suggestions , we didn't know how sophisticated and how much patience needed the gown producing are . I had touched the real backbone of design , running a factory , supervising , producing , communication and coordination included . It was a hardship that I had never experienced that of in design courses .
After finding out the Fashion area of garments wasn't my life-long plan , I did the graduation project with my best friend who majored in textile design . We cooperated to make artistic clothes in coalition with philosophy , architectural concepts which aims to explore what life will be in human's mind , furthermore , focusing on the interaction of light and fabrics .
She was responsible for the knitted parts in contrast of what I sew and build up the construction of a finished clothes , also create cloth with special effects. Finally , we were awarded the INSTALLATION ART DISTINCTIVE AWARD FOR TEXTILE DESIGN.
After graduation , I motivated myself to learn software like Adobe Suite on my own because our CAD courses was not professional enough to meet the requirement in the workplace .
To make sure my career direction , I spent time searching in and out of myself . After working as a Graphic designer , for the time being , I can finish a project individually . It seems my work goes smoothly and proficiently . But , when it comes to graphic design , it is so commonplace and over commercialized in Taiwan because related major graduates overflow as for the human resources demand . Most important of all , people lack aesthetic consciousness make designers disrespected and mental ill since they always work overtime . I still love the purity of textiles , and I believe that the abilities I build up these years will augment my career . I extremely admire the textiles processing in the Europe . Producing textile or a printed fabric takes much more time. It needs patience , prudence ,creativity , sense of color and precision . These features are as same as my personalities . Whenever I did a project , I love to figure out a special pattern
intriguing or think of what the fabric should like to fit in the specific space .
One of the project of the fabric brochure as you can see in my profolio , it was originally come from a hand-made book which contain real fabric and its original warmth , unique texture of hand-made . The hand made project aims to devise a mode that is suitable
for customers browsing the fabric displayed book smoothly and enjoy
the selecting experiences. The book is three-dimensional ,
made up of many materials . Most important of all , we have
to figure out a core visual and concept which is consistent from
the first fabric to the last one . Every fabric were stored in a
two-pages hand-bonding folder , so it is easy to keep order and take out to show. I handle all of the procedures from the beginning to the printed catalogs finished , then after handing out to the customers , we received a lot of feedback that if we really do a progressive change of how to interact better with customers .
As for living quality , textile play a prominent role in interior furnish , also this is what I value the most in daily life . When I 'm equipped with the skills ,I want to be a textile designer who is able to create soft , skin-friendly ,elegant and recyclable textile since we human-being has responsibility to protect our environment , improving our living quality at the same time .
