Along with three decades of law and business experience, Nick Tonsich holds a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Southern California and a juris doctor from Whittier College School of Law. He spent much of his early career as an attorney and served as the managing partner for Glaser and Tonsich, LLP, for 16 years. In this capacity, he handled all of the firm’s litigation relating to environmental and maritime law, tort defense, and contractual disputes. During this time, Nick Tonsich also held various commission and board roles. He was the president of the Port of Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners for four years and served on the board of trustees for the Port of Los Angeles Charter High School.
Currently, Nick Tonsich divides his time between leading two companies: Ocean Terminal Services, Inc., and Clean Air Engineering - Maritime. He joined the two businesses while working as an attorney and now serves as the president and CEO of both organizations. At Ocean Terminal Services, he oversees repair services for marine terminal equipment. Under his leadership, the company services everything from dockside container cranes to refrigerator containers and motorized yard equipment. Meanwhile, Clean Air Engineering - Maritime provides marine exhaust treatment services that comply with the California Air Resources Board and its air quality regulations.
