Nonye Ikegwuoha

Artist with Interest in African Art and Architecture

Educated in Lagos, Nigeria, Nonye Ikegwuoha holds a both a bachelor of architecture and a bachelor of environmental sciences from the University of Lagos. These two areas of study come together in his enduring interest in indigenous African architecture and its various environmental impacts. Nonye Ikegwuoha is also profoundly interested in the effects of diaspora on ancient African art.

Although he has been working as a successful artist in New York City for the past six years, Nonye Ikegwuoha has maintained active ties to Nigeria. He received recognition for his outstanding contributions to schematic design and construction in private and public projects including residential housing for the Foreign Service National (FSN) of the American Embassy in Abuja, The Daughters of Abraham Foundation, a non-profit organization for the rehabilitation and education of women and girls in Abuja, Nigeria.


His other interests include a profound dedication to poetry and literature, photography, drama and the various other forms of creative expression and culture.
