A former public works administrator for the Village of Homewood, Illinois, Patrick Ryan has advocated for environmentally responsible growth throughout his nearly three decades long career. He stands out as a longtime environmentalist and conservationist who has experience with groundwater systems, surface water treatment systems, and stormflow technologies. The past president of the Intergovernmental Risk Management Association Public Works Committee, Patrick Ryan also holds certification as an arborist and a Class C Water Operator in Illinois.
Mr. Ryan leverages this expertise in his current position as vice president of the Lombard, Illinois-based Batista Enterprises, where he specializes in bioremediation and rehabilitation of brownfield construction sites, as well as the administration of wastewater and potable water systems. He additionally supervises transportation, home renovation, and landscaping projects and serves as a liaison for homeowner groups to various public environmental agencies.
Prior to entering the private sector, Mr. Ryan held supervisory public works positions with multiple municipalities, including the Illinois communities of Homewood, Lake in the Hills, and Berwyn, as well as the Maryland city of Hyattsville. In each of these positions, he led crews of employees responsible for all city operations and maintenance. He also guided several significant infrastructure improvement projects, including a $25 million airport improvement project for the town of Lake in the Hills.
