Plot The film begins with three families (Nasir, Dinesh and Sunny) going to an English Medium school. Their son Jagjit works as a book-keeper in a big bank. Jagjit is successful and also wealthy due to his ability to handle money. Jagjit falls in love with Pooja (Jasmine), and they become a happy couple. The family is further expanded when Jagjit and his father are successful in landing the business of buying up valuable land, but are forced to sell the land to a group of businessmen for a very low price. Nasir, Dinesh and Sunny visit another school, and like their son, also fall in love with the headmistress, (Pooja), and are happy when Jagjit and his wife announce that they are planning to have a daughter. But their happiness is soon shattered when they are shocked to learn that their son has sold the land to the businessmen and cheated them. A year passes, and the children of the three families no longer live together. Jagjit has separated from Pooja and is leading a selfish life with his girlfriend, Vaishnavi. Nasir, Dinesh and Sunny now have a daughter of their own, and are struggling financially. Dinesh works as a dust collector to earn the living, and he goes to any lengths to save his money. Meanwhile, Jagjit's wife, has fallen ill, and soon, she dies. Jagjit himself does not turn up at her funeral, instead he is seen with a young dancer he was having an affair with, Vaishnavi. Dinesh is seen as a trustworthy person by the public, and has many people working for him. People come to him for loans, but Dinesh always gives good loans. One day, Nasir and Dinesh learn that their house has been targeted by criminal gang. They go to Dinesh's office, where they find that his safety deposit box has been burgled. Dinesh then goes to the bank where his own son works, and demands to know why the money in his account is being used to pay the loan to criminals, a loan that was never taken. The bank officials reluctantly tell him that they were paying the money out, as the owner of the house was a good customer. Dinesh becomes furious, and tells the bank officials that they can fire him at any time. Nasir
