Treatment from this perspective is centered on the identification of thoughts, beliefs and mental schemas that do not correspond to the reality around the patient. That is, exaggerated thoughts to try to question them through a consistent debate from questions that cast doubt on the thoughts. Once a person or patient is able to identify and question their own beliefs, they are then prepared to reformulate them and create new, more reality-oriented beliefs.
