Physical fitness is such an important piece of a well balanced life. It plays a huge role in our health. My recent move from Florida to Colorado has introduced me to new types of workouts. Hiking has proven to be not only a fun and exciting outdoor activity but also rigorous and grueling depending on the trail / mountain you chose. Slow long hikes with steady inclines are great for low intensity interval training (LIIT) with many breaks to take pictures of scenery and take in the beauty of nature. On the other hand, (HIIT) high intensity interval training can be incorporated into hikes as well. A strong and steady pace covering long miles via trail running or speed hikes is ideal for HIIT! On a most recent hike we summited 1200ft elevation from trailhead to mountain top with an average pace of 5.1 mph. Great work out and highly recommend to get outside and go for it! Know your pace, set your pace, and improve on your pace. Increase your physical fitness activity and output every chance you can. Always advance, always aspire to be better and help others!
