CRAIG HOCKENBERRY THREE RIVERS SUPERINTENDENT CRAIG HOCKENBERRY Business Leadership Summit Quick business-focused highlights Our campus was completed: August 2013 Total cost: 54.4 Million Total square footage: 297,000 feet Total # of students PK-12: 2,277 students Open enrollment: 200 kids ($6,100 per kid) 1.2 million Open enrollment is a system of filling otherwise empty seats with students from surrounding districts mainly CPS (Saylor Park, Oak Hills, Northwest, & Southwest) Over the course of our 5 year forecast that includes projection of 6 million dollars. ADK (Tuition-free) Before care program operated by our district After Care provided by the YMCA Security 2 School Police Officers (Cleves) 3 School Security Work closely with Addyston PD & Hamilton County Sherriff 219 high def. cameras to monitor before/during/after school Exploring drone technology, robotics Clear separations of all the grade levels Transportation We transport GR. PK-8 24 buses and 5 vans transport approximately 1,300 students daily across more than 30 square miles Other area schools that we transport include: Our Lady of Visitation, St. Jude, St Bernard, St. Al’s Bridgetown, Rost, St. Ignatius, Children’s Home, and the Cincinnati Autism Center One of only a handful of districts using the innovative Here Comes the Bus APP…Able to locate, track, and project the exact time of your child’s arrival to and from school Food Services We prepare 1,200 meals a day, equaling almost 6,000 meals per week. Food Service is open after school for those involved in sports, clubs, and other programs. 33% of our students qualify for the Federal free & reduced lunch program. Weekly backpack program for our less fortunate, which gives kids a back pack of food to last over the weekend (faith-based partners) Summer feeding program Our kitchen runs a business within a business. It is responsible to the school board but it makes a profit each year or the board has to make up the deficit on July 1 of each year. By law the kitchen cannot end the fiscal year with a negative balance.
