Choosing a college major and subsequent career can be a daunting task. If that’s how you feel, you’re not alone. Many young people find themselves struggling with the decision. In most cases, the problem is that they can see themselves succeeding in a handful of fields and positions, but they feel pressured to pick one specific path. In my experience, I’ve found that it’s often possible to pursue various interests at once to see what feels right. Those of us with enough luck and determination may even land a career that perfectly mixes multiple fields of interest. For me, that mix was a combination of business and health care. The business side of medicine and the health care side of medicine go hand -in-hand, so I’ve found that it’s extremely valuable to be knowledgeable about both sides of the equation. From a young age, I knew I was interested in medicine because I suffered with several health complications growing up. After high school, I immediately utilized my entrepreneurial spirit to develop businesses while also investing in myself.
