If you have questions, you can contact them at [email protected]: File size in app.config is much less than expected I have a simple c# console application that reads the content of an XML file located in the app.config file, iterates over the items in the file and if the XML file has a specific pattern of ......... then the content of the element is printed out to the console. To give you a better understanding of the problem I have uploaded a link to a demo of the problem here: In the XML file above there are two data rows that start with the name "data" followed by a colon, then a name (itself inside a tag) followed by a colon. The data row that I am interested in begins with a data tag with name "SampleData". This is followed by 4 more data rows which are of no interest. The problem is that the file size in the app.config is about 2.5M, which is about half what I was expecting. This has resulted in the application crashing with an OutOfMemoryException being thrown. Is there any way to make sure that the file is of the correct size so that it fits in memory? A: I'm pretty sure that the issue is due to the fact that you read the whole file into a string, then try to parse it. If you just want to loop through the nodes and do a string.Split()
