BOND THE COMMUNITY BACKGROUND Current community centers offer a limited range of services and the venues provided are not large enough to cater to these services. In view of this, 3 Hong Kong PolyU Design graduates who are keen on community connections have started off by designing a mobile cart, and further proposed a series of community services and platform naming MoCo Action (Mobile Community Action). MoCo hopes to strengthen the connection between seniors and the community in order to promote communication between neighbors, enhance the sense of belonging, and improve the elderly’s living quality. MOCO ACTION The initial MoCo Action has designed five community activities that are close to the daily life of the Pak Tin villagers, and a cart made with upcycled materials will be our mobile station. MoCo serves as the platform provider, all activities can be coordinated with the selection of community centers; Social workers play a role of propagator and cooperator. They are responsible for encouraging the participation of residents, and so to create a mobile gathering point.
