Pink Floyd: Ummagumma Pink Floyd Ummagumma review “Ummagumma” is a double album by English rock band Pink Floyd, released on 26 October 1969 by EMI Records in the United Kingdom. It was the last of three double albums Pink Floyd released in 1969, the others being The Piper at the Gates of Dawn and Atom Heart Mother. The latter, in particular, has sometimes been described as the most experimental album in the band's discography, and included some of their earliest usage of electronic instruments, such as the EMS Synthi – a synthesizer that Pink Floyd had used in previous recordings. In its original form, Ummagumma was originally intended to have seven tracks on each side; however, it was retitled "Side 2" after its third track. The album was a critical and commercial success, reaching No. 4 on the UK Albums Chart and No. 3 in the United States. On 14 December 1994, the album was remastered and reissued on CD in the US by Warner Bros. Records with bonus tracks. The album was remastered and reissued on CD by EMI in the UK on 7 October 1994. A remastered version of Ummagumma was released by Pink Floyd Records in 2013. Ummagumma is the first Pink Floyd album to credit only the three members of the band as recording artists rather than the group, although the logo of the band continues to feature the word Pink in larger letters than the rest of the text. The album also features the first usage of the song "Interstellar Overdrive" (originally titled "Interstellar Signal").
