The film stars Ram Charan and Rakul Preet Singh. It was the first collaboration of Charan and S. N. Prasad. The film was released on 25 January 2010, and became a commercial success. Plot Shankar (Ram Charan) is a nice guy who studies and works hard. He comes from a middle-class family where his sister is a teacher and his parents both work in an office. Shankar is in love with his classmate Sathyam (Rakul Preet Singh). Shankar is an honest and well-mannered guy and soon is known as "Mr. Perfect", while Sathyam comes from a well-to-do family and is known as "Miss Perfect". When they were in school, Shankar used to get beaten up and teased by Gopal (Vennela Kishore). Shankar does not like this and in turn, his sister Maheshwari (Jayasudha) comes up with a plan to get Gopal out of the way. Gopal is killed in a cricket match, and Shankar wins the prize and becomes the new captain. Shankar marries Sathyam. While on their wedding day, Sathyam is shot by her father (Rajendra Prasad), who was mad at her for marrying Shankar instead of an alliance for her marriage. He then leaves. Shankar is traumatized by the whole incident and goes into a depression. His friend Selvam (Venu Madhav), who works for the Congress party and has a communist boss friend (Sudheer Babu) comes to console him. Shankar starts doing some political work for Selvam. At one point, Shankar is saved by his colleague Mohan Rao (Ali). Mohan Rao is actually Rajiv Krishna (Rajeev), who is a bully and Shankar's classmate in school. He believes Shankar is mad because he used to beat him up on many occasions. But Shankar isn't angry and tells Mohan Rao about his past. Shankar and Mohan Rao used to be neighbours and friends in school. Shankar used to abuse Mohan Rao when he was younger. Mohan Rao also used to abuse Shankar when he was a kid.
