Plot In the present day, the people of Stillwater, Michigan are cautiously preparing for the return of Stefano Callahan and his family. A local businessman has developed a plan to honor Stefano's parents and wife, Pia Callahan, by holding a Survivor contest and using footage from the film about their disappearance to simulate a real-life death of the Callahan family. The clan of Callahans prepare for the announcement of their return. At the same time, bodybuilder and cult figure Randy Hawkins makes his way to the Callahan compound. Hawkins is here to meet and bond with his long lost daughter Jessica, and to find a way to contact her. Hawkins tells the members of the Callahan clan that they are his only family and his only hope for salvation. After Randy and Jessica are introduced to each other, Jessica is shown sleeping in a cab and Hawkins takes the opportunity to coax her out. Hawkins reveals that he has footage of her parents and brother, and he is going to the city to retrieve it. Randy goes to the attic to find his old video camera, and begins to play through some of his old tape from when he was with his family. In the attic, he discovers the survivalist paraphernalia that Stefano used to prepare for his family's disappearance. In the city, Stefano and Pia are preparing for their final days of survival. Stefano and Pia are very attached and want to spend the last days of their lives together. Stefano is shown secretly rewiring his pistol, the same gun he used to kill his family. A final flashback is shown of Stefano attempting to escape the compound with his wife and son, but he is shot in the back by Randy Hawkins. The event is later revealed to have been a ploy by Stefano, as he intended to convince his family to go with him to the woods so they could be found by the members of the militia. The tragedy is undone when a masked Stefano confronts the true Hawkins, now calling himself Michael Miller, who has come to kill them all. In the present, Randy makes his way to the Callahan compound, arriving only minutes before Michael. He is met at the gate by the militia, and allowed into the compound. Randy watches as Michael
