Projects

Titanic Disaster Machine Learning Competition (2016) - Kaggle

This is a basic project for data science beginners, aimed at coming up with different models which can predict survival of the people present on the ship using Predictive Analytics. I learnt how to approach problem statements by referring blogs by Trevor Stephens. Various models which I came up with are Gender – based survival model, age-based, position in the boat based model. Also, attempted to use Clustering – decision trees. The project was done completely using R statistical language.

Participation in International Events

Umass – BVB Student Exchange Program (2015)

15-day Exchange Program among total of 30 students from BVBCET and University of Massachusetts, Lowell held at our college BVB. The program intended to foster entrepreneurial thinking among students. Our very own business plan “CakeBoard” was selected for this course.

IUCEE International Conference (2013)

I had a great opportunity to attend “Indo-US Collaboration for Engineering Education”, an international event held at BVBCET, Hubli wherein many laureates across globe attended it. This event served as a source of inspiration for me having to witness individual sessions & presentations from them.

Volunteer Experience

Google Student Club - Co-Organizer, 2013-2014

Google Student Club was a small organization of 14 students at BVBCET, Hubli. Our main intention behind this organization was to get as many as people to learn and use Internet. We have visited few schools who haven't had much exposure to luxuries of Internet and arranged several workshops on internet awareness.
