Experienced Healthcare Leader & Former Military Officer

A three-time recipient of the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal, Rafic Warwar served more than 20 years in the United States Air Force in a variety of capacities. While working toward a bachelor's degree at Wayland Baptist University, Rafic Warwar worked as chief of corporate human resources at the Air Training Command headquarters in San Antonio, Texas, where he was responsible for providing guidance to 30 field management engineers and facilitating corporate level management engineering procedures for its medical enterprise. 


He later worked as an administrator of the McClellan Air Force Base Hospital and, upon earning a master's degree in healthcare administration from Chapman University, began serving as executive director at the Malcolm Grow Medical Center. He later held the title of associate vice president of business operations at the Maryland-based hospital. 


From 2000 to 2017, Rafic Warwar served as vice chair for administration of the DeWitt Daughtry Family Department of Surgery at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine. He subsequently served as senior associate dean and COO of the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine and, in January 2018, was promoted to senior associate dean and CAO of the University of Miami Health System, which includes the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine as well as the University of Miami Hospitals and Clinics and the 1,300 physician medical group practice.
