Richard Sabatier

New Orleans Medical Consultant

The recipient of a full academic scholarship, Dr. Richard Sabatier earned an undergraduate degree and a medical degree from Tulane University. He then completed an internship and residency in surgery at the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans and a plastic surgery residency at Duke University Medical Center. After a fellowship in microvascular clinical research with Dr. Donald Serafin at Duke University Medical Center, Dr. Richard Sabatier participated in a hand surgery fellowship at the University of Louisville, Kentucky, and a fellowship in head and neck surgery and oncology in New York City.

Over the course of a 45-year medical career, Dr. Sabatier has served as medical director and chief of plastic surgery of various hospitals. Additionally, he has held multiple associate clinical professor positions at Tulane University. Since 2015, he has served as a medical consultant with Louisiana Primary Care Consultants. In addition to conducting medical and neurological assessments, he recommends treatment and refers patients to surgical, psychiatric, orthopedic, and pain management specialists.

Named by the Republican National Committee as Louisiana’s Outstanding Physician, he has also earned recognition among the Best Surgeons in America and Marquis Who’s Who in America.
