Robert Makheja

A business executive and entrepreneur in McLean, Virginia, Robert J. Makheja has over three decades of combined experience leading companies in multiple industries. Robert Makheja has an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering and computer science, a master of business administration from the University of Tampa Sykes College of Business, and a juris doctor from George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School.

He began his career in 1990 at IBM in New York and later spent seven years with Oracle, where he contributed to its growth as the vice president of its North America and public sector unit. Over the following 16 years, Mr. Makheja leveraged this experience to direct and scale operations at other technology companies. He served as Peregrine Systems Inc.’s vice president until its sale to Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) in 2005, at which time he assumed an executive position with HPE’s commercial and government business units. While at HPE, he received Top Performing Executive of the Year awards from 2007 to 2015.

Mr. Makheja now serves as the president of the software development company MFGC, Inc., the product of a merger between HPE Software and Micro Focus International. In 2021, his achievements there earned him a Top Tech Innovators of the Year Award. Since 2001, he has also provided legal advisory services on business and technology matters as an attorney partner at RJM & Associates.

Moreover, Robert J. Makheja cofounded the commercial real estate firm RJM Companies Inc. and the investment company RJM Capital in 2000 and 2014, respectively.
