A longtime resident of Massachusetts, Robin Ohringer holds a magna cum laude bachelor of arts in child study from Tufts University in Medford, a master of social work from the Smith College School for Social Work in Northampton, and doctorate in social work from the Simmons School of Social Work in Boston. She also completed the Advanced Training Program in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at the Boston Psychoanalytic Institute and the Family Therapy Workshop with consultants from the Cambridge Family Institute. Later in her career, Robin Ohringer earned certification in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing – a psychotherapeutic technique that uses repetitive fine motor movement as a tool for treating cases of mental trauma.
A psychotherapist in private practice for nearly 45 years, Robin Ohringer has treated patients of all ages for conditions ranging from anxiety and depression to various body image disorders. Ms. Ohringer has also shared her expertise as a public speaker and the author of “Stop the action: A program for parents of severely disturbed children.”
