Samuel Kolb

California Tech Leader and Game Developer

With decades of experience in the tech industry in California, Samuel Kolb has become a noted leader in areas ranging from engineering to game programming. Recently, he served as the senior director of engineering for SurveyMonkey, where he developed platforms for accounts, billing, and payments. Before he joined SurveyMonkey, Samuel Kolb served as the chief executive officer of Red Lozenge, Inc., which he co-founded to create games that focused on fitness and health topics. The business produced such games as Habit Monster and FitQuarium. 


While at Red Lozenge, Kolb also participated in a collaborative development effort on a tracking method for goal achievement and user behavior for which the group earned a patent. His previous experience includes positions as the director of technology at Electronic Arts, the director of engineering at Linden Lab, the senior programmer at Activision, and a programmer at Eidos. Throughout his early years in the gaming industry, he worked on well-known games such as titles from the X-Men franchise, Spider-Man 2, Tomb Raider: Legend, and Space Bunnies Must Die!. 


In his leisure time, Samuel Kolb attends events such as the Game Developers Conference. He also mentors women in the tech industry through the organization Everwise.
