Senior Developer of Interactive Exhibits, American Museum of Natural History, March 2015 - Present

In addition to my role outlined as Developer below, I have been involved in managing the creative technology for more projects within the museum including prototyping and R&D of new interfaces including virtual and augmented reality. I've now created interactive works in 7 exhibits which have opened at our museum and have subsequently traveled to museums all over the world.

I teach an introductory course in computer Science course at NYU which covers objected-oriented programing in Java. I also cover Processing as a toolkit for more expressive programs, which is for most students their very first introduction to creative coding.

As a member of the Media and Interactives group within the Exhibition department, I work on creating interactive experiences from conception all the way through to production. As the only developer on the team, I either write the code myself or, depending on the project, I hire and manage freelancers to assist in development.

Interactive Media Developer Intern and Freelancer, American Museum of Natural History, New York, NY, Summer 2013, January 2014 – April 2014

 As an intern, I participated in brainstorming and prototyping of various interactive exhibits, including an interactive book in the current show The Power of Poison. As a freelancer, I developed two interactives for the show Pterosaurs: Flight in the Age of Dinosaurs involving kinect and leap motion sensors.
