As the chair of medicine with Greater Philadelphia’s Einstein Healthcare Network from 2015 to 2020, Dr. Jean G. Ford oversaw the Department of Medicine for a $1.3 billion healthcare system with 220 faculty members and dozens of training and fellowship programs. His accomplishments with Einstein include engendering an 88 percent reduction in hospital-acquired conditions over a two-year period by instituting new multi-department patient safety protocols. Dr. Jean G. Ford also successfully decreased 30-day readmissions among high-risk patients by 38 percent.
Before joining the Einstein Healthcare Network, Dr. Jean Ford served three years as chair of medicine with The Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York City and a decade as associate director of community programs and research with Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Dr. Ford has also taught as an assistant professor of environmental health sciences with the Columbia Mailman School of Public Health and an assistant professor of medicine with the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.
