Sergio Paez
Sergio Paez immigrated to the United States 29 years ago. Ultimately settling in Massachusetts, he earned a bachelor of arts in sociology from Fitchburg State College, a master of education from Harvard University, and a doctor of education in with a concentration in school administration from Boston College. Sergio Paez began his career in education shortly before obtaining his undergraduate degree, serving as a bilingual teacher with Fitchburg Public Schools. He went on to serve Fitchburg Public Schools as a Title I educator and assistant principal.
Sergio Paez found subsequent administrative success as a language acquisition director with Leominster Public Schools and as the manager of the English language learners program in the Worcester Public Schools. From 2013 to 2015, he served as a superintendent of Holyoke Public Schools, where he managed all policy implementation and budget decisions.
