Shaliza Somani

New Business Development at Paramount Conference

An alumnus of Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario, Shaliza Somani began her management career in 1996 and, following six years of call center leadership experience, was hired as a business development manager at Star Media Productions, Inc. Three years later, Shaliza Somani took on the role of director of sales and marketing at a Toronto/LA-based company, where she led a team of 15 people and maintained responsibilities pertaining to sales and customer service strategies.

Since 2016, Shaliza Somani has worked to generate new business on behalf of Paramount Commerce in Toronto. This innovative financial technology company has processed more than $35 billion in payments globally and Ms. Somani has played a key role in its recent growth, by on-boarding a number of new merchants via the launch of its Software as a Service (SaaS) licensing model in two additional jurisdictions. She also leveraged past customer service experience to ensure optimal client support and implement multiple internal standard operating procedures. She attends relevant conferences like ICE Boston and Payments Canada Summit.
