Sheldon Pontaoe

An accomplished attorney, Sheldon Pontaoe has almost 20 years of experience as a corporate counsel in the pharmaceutical industry. During this time, he has received positive attention, such as earning distinction as a Best Lawyer Under 40 by the National Asia Pacific Bar Association. Throughout his career, Sheldon Pontaoe has gained and demonstrated expertise in several areas, including foreign and domestic policies. In addition, he has advised clients on various areas of intellectual property law, including trademarks, copyrights, domain names, etc.
Since 2018, Mr. Pontaoe has worked with the global animal health company Elanco as associate general counsel, head of legal operations and trademarks. In these roles, he defends the firm’s intellectual property rights while ensuring that it is compliant with all relevant laws. Alongside his corporate counsel duties, he has delivered presentations to various groups. In October 2017, for example, Mr. Pontaoe delivered a speech to Indiana University’s McKinney School of Law titled "Enforcing Trademark Rights in China."
Sheldon Pontaoe maintains membership in the Corporate Legal Operations Consortium, among other professional groups. Outside of work, he is a sports fan who enjoys golf, basketball, and tennis.
