Steve Kanzer

Entrepreneur and Investor in the Biotechnology Sector

The recipient of a bachelor's degree in accounting from Baruch College as well as a juris doctor from New York University, Steve Kanzer began his career as an attorney with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, and has since spent over 20 years in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical finance sector. During that time, Steve Kanzer has served as co-founder and director of more than 20 biotech companies, including Titan Pharmaceuticals, Boston Life Sciences, Discovery Laboratories, and CD4 Biosciences.

An accomplished venture capitalist, Steve Kanzer was senior managing director and head of venture capital with Paramount Capital from 1991 until 2000, when he founded Accredited Ventures, which he continues to preside over. As chairman and CEO of the VC and investment banking firm, he seeks out emerging and potentially profitable technologies in the life science sector.

Supplementing his professional pursuits, Mr. Kanzer is a Certified Public Accountant and former co-chair of the New York Chapter of the Licensing Executives Society. His other interests include computer programming, theoretical physics, and chess.
